January Employment Law & HR Legislation.

Over the coming months there are notable changes to the employment law legislation that your business may need to consider.

Prepare for changes to the off-payroll working rules (IR35).

From April 2021 the rules for engaging individuals through personal service companies are changing. The responsibility for determining whether the off-payroll working rules (sometimes known as IR35) apply will move to the organisation receiving an individual’s services.

This advice is to help you prepare before the changes come in. You can find more information about how to prepare and who it affects here.

Until the end of April 2021, employer’s can continue to claim 80% of an employee’s salary for hours not worked (up to a maximum of £2,500 per month). You can find out which employees you can put on furlough and claim for through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme here.
